![]() ![]() Observes and reports to the RN/LPN changes in patient behavior, attitude, bodily complaints and appearance.Assists PCP and nurses in the care and treatment of the ill receiving medical, surgical, or outpatient treatment.Assists Primary Care Providers (PCP) and nurses in the performance of diagnostic examinations by performing duties such as: monitoring vital signs, preparing and positioning the patient, or by performing a variety of routine diagnostic tests.Reinforces patient education and safety techniques.Assists with general health education, e.g., reminds patient/family/care providers of importance of skin care, position changes, adhering to medication/dietary regime. Teaches patients and family members the necessity to continue the procedures for proper health care.Identifies physical, social, psychological, and cultural needs of patients by applying relevant growth and development processes specific to the age of the patient. Applies protective devices such as body holders/vests, soft restraints, padded mitts, side rails, etc.Performs basic personal nursing care that requires knowledge of standardized procedures such as performance of active/passive range-of-motion activities, insuring that catheters and oxygen cannula are maintained intact, etc. Performs a wide variety of duties aimed at increasing the comfort and spirit of the patient.Enters patient information using commonly used medical terminology such as terms of tests, diet changes, or test results. Enters specific information onto the patients' records or charts. ![]() Performs simple treatment procedures such as changing simple dressings applying or removing binders, arm slings dressing, and bandages or applying hot and cold packs. Observes and reports to the professional nurse changes in patient behavior attitude, bodily complaints, and appearance.
